Racing NSW established a Drugs & Alcohol Awareness Program to educate industry participants and provide valuable support.
Pat Webster
Former jockey and current metropolitan trainer Pat Webster is an accredited ambassador and mentor for the Drugs & Alcohol Program. Pat has extensive training in Community Services, specialising in drugs and alcohol related mental health issues and recovery processes.
Pat regularly holds mandatory workshops for apprentice jockeys in each region of NSW, which involve intensive discussions into all aspects of the dangers and effects of alcohol and drug usage. While the workshops are mandatory for apprentice jockeys, all industry participants are encouraged to attend.
